Brynn Richardson is a junior here at Purdue University majoring in psychological sciences and getting her entrepreneurship certificate. When working as an undergraduate researcher at the SHINE lab, she hopes to learn more about the research process and how to create an ethical experiment that can improve data in the desired areas that the SHINE lab fosters, which are children and mental health. She is very passionate about mental health and advocates for more access and research on the backgrounds of mental illnesses, especially in children. Brynn is currently a member of the Health and Human Science Student Council as well as a board member of the METOO Purdue club. She has had many leadership roles throughout her schooling and hopes to continue being a leader in the future. Her ultimate goal after Purdue is to receive her masters in mental health counseling and work with children as a therapist.
One fun fact about Brynn is that right after high school, she took a gap year and studied abroad in Thailand. During this time, she learned a new culture, language, and appreciation for the world. She is very excited to be a part of this new lab here at Purdue and hopes to gain more experience within the research environment.
